Website Updates 8/30/2014 11:34:00 PM
Its been a long time since I have updated this site. So I am taking time this weekend to update the website, freshen up the links, and content a bit and maybe even enter a few comic books.

Blocking HotLinking 5/30/2010 9:43:00 AM
Its a said day today. I had to implement referrer level blocking on two of my most popular images which I host [Mary Jane Acrylic][Supergirl]. I did this after they were used on by what I assume is a botnet operated blogs. These blogs tripped all types of secruity warnings when I tried to visit them. I can only imagine what they are doing to someone not running fully patched software which is updated constantly. The blogs in question come and go within a few days of being put up, and the names are not easily filtered. I might white list some sites that can hotlink to these images, but did not want to spend that much time right now.

Clearing My Comic Back Log 8/3/2009 10:08:00 PM

As you may have noticed I haven't added any comics until recently. I have about 8 months worth of comic books to enter. I will be entering them over the next few weeks as I get time.

New Hp Scanjet g4010 8/4/2008 8:28:00 PM
My new scanner just arrived via FedEx. Took me all of about 5 minutes to install. I did the bare minimum install since I would not be using any of there photo editing software. I use a program called Thumbplus to scan in my comics and track the images. I been using different versions of Thumbsplus probably over 10 years now. The new scanner is much quieter scanning then my old scanner which has no name (name was rubed off few years ago). So far so good with it, the scans turn out cleaner then the old scanner. But I always have to crop these since it doesn't get as exact on the corners as the old scanner software did. Back to scanning I go.

Scanner Died 8/2/2008 8:24:00 AM
Some of you may have noticed how slow I have been at adding new comics to the website. Part of the reason my trusty scanner of many years was failing and has finally died. So after this years comic con I am suck waiting on FedEx to deliver a new HP Scanner to me. So I am stuck waiting to scan all the covers so that I can upload all the comics I purchased. It should be in by today I hope.

Hello everyone
I have updated the search index finally to cover all the new comics I have inserted since upgrading. I didn't notice the scheduled task was not running to update this the Lucene index which powers the search. It is now fixed and updated to include all the updates.

mojoPortal on Mono 4/12/2008 4:30:00 PM
OT: Part of my Browser Detective project source code was recently tweaked and merged in with Mono svn. And today I noticed this referrer pointing to this blog entry about mojoPortal project which benefited from the additions to Mono project.

As a side note I am working on another browser detection file just for Mono installations. But it is not in a state which is suitable for mass consumption yet. When it is ready I will place it on my Browser Detective page with the other files and mark it for the Mono Project.

New Comic Art Work by Andy Price 5/27/2007 9:47:00 PM
I contacted Andy Price late in 2006 after stumbling across a website showing off his work. So I found an email address for him and shot him an email, with what I was thinking of having him do. I always wanted to get some comic book artwork. I wanted something that I could put up in my office or my apartment here without raising or offending. I gave him a description what I wanted and he delivered it. I received it last Friday at work where and showed it off. All I have to do now is to get it framed. My scanner could only scan a portion of it but here the scan is Mary Jane Acrylic.
