Summary
Senator Drexel Walsh is seen barricaded in a compound, surrounded by numerous agents and his personal bodyguard. He comments to himself on how inept the news reporters were: how the were unable to connect the mysterious deaths that were occurring, and how each of these men were connected to something they had been involved with long time ago. He holds up a disk which he claims is his "bargaining chip" that would prevent himself from dying. He makes a phone call to the Daily Bugle to reveal his story. Suddenly his phone call is disconnected, and the security cameras that he was monitoring revealed a trail of carnage, as numerous agents had been killed, and his bodyguard was making a frantic attempt to escape. A set of claws rip open the door to the room where the senator had barricaded himself, and Logan bursts in. The senator makes an attempt to stop Logan with a barrage of gunfire, which doesn't slow Logan down. Logan proceeds to kill the senator with a cynical laugh, and destroys the disk.
Logan suddenly wakes up in his bed, commenting how he's been having all these nightmarish dreams lately. He heads out for a drive in the night, only to sense that someone was on the roof of his vehicle. He purposely crashes into a tree to dislodge the follower. The follower reveals himself to be Beast, who was concerned about Wolverine's well-being, considering the fact that fellow X-Man Colossus had recently given his own life to cure the Legacy Virus, along with the death of Moira MacTaggar. Beast tries to get Logan to talk about what was wrong, but Logan stubbornly refuses. The two gets into a squirmish, with Beast attempting to beat the truth out of Logan. Their brief squirmish doesn't last very long, and Logan agrees to tell Beast everything after Beast loses in the squirmish.
A brief cutaway panel, as Sabretooth is shown, naked with his back sliced open, undergoing what appears to be the adamantium bonding process, rebonding adamantium to his skeleton.
At the Gunga Diner, Logan tells the dreams that he had been having to Beast (who was utilizing an image inducer to look like Humphery Bougard). Beast agrees that he'll need to run some tests on Logan to determine whether these dreams had anything to do with Apocalypse's programming of Logan into Death. On the television overhead, a news flash, as it is revealed that Senator Walsh, who had been missing, was murdered. A security camera shot had caught an image of the perpetrator who had killed him, and standing over the body of the senator was an image of Logan, with both sets of claws extended.
