Summary
A flashback to the past, as Logan recalls his studies under Lord Ogun. He recalls the day that Lord Ogun had been under attack by an enemy, Lord Ugama Hana. He remembers how Lord Ogun told Logan to step down as he systematically kills Lord Ugama Hana's ninjas until it was only him against Lord Ugama Hana. Logan recalls how Ogun drops his sword and demanded Lord Hana to kill him. However, even after Lord Hana runs his sword through Lord Ogun's chest, Lord Ogun did not die, and instead, pulls out the sword from his body and decapitates Lord Hana with the sword, with Logan watching in disbelief as to how Lord Ogun was able to survive such a stab wound. Logan could not explain what had happened back then ... nor could he explain how Ogun could resurface again right now, and whether Ogun could be killed at all.
[Viper and Patch / Logan] To the present, as Logan and Viper are in the streets of Madripoor looking for Ogun. At the Foxy Den, a brawl had broken out inside. Logan looks around and his eyes falls upon a man with glowing red eyes. Logan and Viper gives chase after the man who disappears at a market place. Looking around for anyone who had glowing red eyes, a knife is thrown into Logan's back. He turns around to see an old woman wielding a meat cleaver, her eyes glowing red. Viper takes aim with her laser pistol, but Logan deflects the shot, as he had made Viper promise to not kill anyone because anyone Ogun possessed was just an innocent bystander. As Ogun jumps from body to body, Ogun tells Logan about what has happened to him since they had last met: how he had inhabited Helen Bach's body but found her to be unfit for someone of his stature (see Wolverine #114). From there, he went from body to body until he found Mr. X's body, who was a "worthy host", as Ogun calls it. But Mr. X's [Doing the deed to rid them of Ogun] telepathy was able to force Ogun out, which results in Ogun inhabiting Blok's body. Then through Mr. X's association with Logan, Ogun was once again given another chance to face off against Logan again. After telling this story, Ogun runs off with his host body, telling Logan to meet him at the docks at night so that Logan can find out why Logan will "... forever be the student ... and I [Ogun], the master."
Later that night, at the docks, Logan finds a deserted dock with only Viper there. However Ogun had inhabited Viper's body. Ogun's spirit enters Logan's body, saying that now that Logan's Weapon X mind control was gone (see previous Wolverine story arc), Logan's body was now susceptible to Ogun's presence inside. After a few moments, however, Ogun realizes something is wrong, as he finds that Logan's mind was "... too fragmented ... too ... bestial ...", and leaves Logan's body, wondering how Logan could endure such horrors that exists within his mind. Ogun's spirit reenters Viper's body, but only to have Logan run a set of claws through Viper's midsection. With her wounds being so severe, Ogun was forced to abandon Viper's body, but since he could not reenter Logan's fragmented mind, Ogun's spirit disappears as there was no more bodies to inhabit. Logan tends to Viper, who now says she was not going to honor their agreement that they had made when Logan agreed to help Viper rid her underworld of Ogun. With her wounds, however, she ended up accepting Logan's desire for a divorce in exchange for Logan to help her rid Ogun and get her a doctor.
