Summary

  Wolverine, Mauvais, and Wendigo are all seen about to square off against one another: Wolverine to stop Mauvais from taking Wendigo's powers, Wendigo against either one of them because he's drawn to carnage, and Mauvais against Wolverine who was trying to stop him and Wendigo because he wanted to eat Wendigo's heart and take its powers. Mauvais attacks Wolverine with a mystical blast; Wendigo attacks Mauvais, who retaliates with mystical claws that digs deep into Wendigo's face, then Wolverine attacking Mauvais, Wendigo attacks Wolverine, and Mavais attacks Wendigo by biting it in its neck. Wolverine launches a counterattack at Mauvais, only to have their fight intruded by Wendigo who lands a crushing blow to Wolverine and Mauvais with an uprooted tree. Logan escapes the impact, but Wendigo attacks Wolverine. The tree suddenly comes alive and wraps Logan and Wendigo, who breaks free. Mauvais emerges from the tree to continue his battle against Logan and Wendigo.

  Meanwhile, somewhere in Japan, a young woman is seen meditating. She senses five assailants approaching from her back. The shadow of one of her hand elongates into long pin-like claws, and without looking behind her, she unleashes that hand behind her, gutting and killing all but one of the assailants behind her. The remaining assailant pleads for his life, only to have the woman use her other hand and kills him as she elongates it through his head. She rips off her now-bloodied kimodo, puts on her Lady Deathstrike outfit, and leaves the temple, all under the watchful eyes of Sabretooth.

  Back to the fight between Wolverine, Mauvais, and Wendigo. Wolverine and Wendigo manages to break through one of Mauvais' mystical forcefield shield, and lands a blow to Mauvais. Wolverine approaches to attack Mauvais, only to have Wendigo hit him from behind. Using his mystical powers, Mauvais raises Wolverine into the air on a column of ice and collapses the column, plunging Wolverine into the ground and putting Wolverine temporarily out of commission. From behind, Wendigo lands a blow to Mauvais' head. As Wendigo charges to attack Mauvais, he unleashes a mystical energy sword right through Wendigo's chest, slicing its chest open. Mauvais leaps in and rips Wendigo's heart out. Licking in anticipation of eating Wendigo's heart (and therefore gaining Wendigo's powers), Wolverine regains conscious and tries to stop Mauvais, only to be unsucessful. Wolverine stops and watches in horror as Mauvais transforms into a combination of Mauvais and Wendigo. Wolverine tries to attack Mauvais/Wendigo with his claws, only to have Mauvais/Wendigo launch a crushing blow to Wolverine. He leaps onto a groggy Wolverine, and is just about to bite into Wolverine's neck before a blast hits Mauvais/Wendigo's back. Mauvais/Wendigo turns around and both him and a semi-conscious Wolverine sees the source of the blast: Alpha Flight, led by Guardian who had unleashed the blast, had arrived to join the fight.
