Summary
Annie doesn't like mutants (she has her reasons). She arrives at the mansion with her boy, Carter, and is shocked: it seems every student with an obvious mutation is parading at the front entrance. Paige greets her, since Scott was called away; Annie worries if she has a mutation would be dangerous to Carter. An X-jet zooms overhead, impressing the boy, and Paige has a psi-chat with Xavier, who wants Annie to help in the infirmary. She refuses a telepathic briefing but agrees to help: she used to work in an ER.
Bobby's chest is punctured, but he's plugged it with ice; he refuses to let Annie touch him, so Xavier goes to help. Stacy gets Annie to look at Warren's broken arm and leg; Paige points out he's no longer blue, and Stacy gets furious. They quarrel over who dresses trashier, and Stacy says she can read pheromones and knows Paige is attracted to Warren. Paige rushes out, embarrassed, and Warren, angry, tells Stacy she's just jealous.
Xavier suddenly remembers Alex is back, in the next room, and tries to contact his mind.
Logan warns Cain not to cause trouble; he grabs a basketball from one of the kids and dunks it, impressing the children.
Xavier finds a tether to Alex's mind but can't reach him, and Alex remains trapped. Xavier takes a break after hours of effort and officially offers Annie a job; he knows she's a bigot, but he says everyone is part of both oppressed and oppressive groups (she's Armenian, massacred by Turks); he's all about unification.
Annie stops by Paige's room to check on her, but she's offended by her prior anti mutant comments. Annie has her reasons: in her room, her son Carter is playing with his mutant TK.
