Summary

  Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and Jetfre are surveying the toppled wreck of Omega Supreme in Alaska. Jetfire suggests Bumblebee and Cliffjumper stay behind while he goes after Sunstorm, but Cliffjumper first demands an explaination for their activities. Jetfire explains that he and Omega Supreme were originally part of an ancient Autobot Space Program, searching for the lost Ark while containing Decepticon expansion. They were following a Decepticon-like energy signature deep beneath prehistoric Earth when they were suddenly attacked by one of the Sweeps. Jetfire escaped to the planet's surface and incapacitated the Sweep, but an arctic avalanche buried the three of them. As Jetfire finishes his story, Omega Supreme re-awakens, and points out that Sunstorm is heading for the ocean. Leaving Cliffjumper behind to guard Omega, Bumblebee and Jetfire leave to follow Sunstorm.

  On Cybertron, Prowl and Perceptor are discussing the development of Sunstorm's odd personality. Perceptor explains that his personality template might have been overloaded with data from Vector Sigma while it was being developed, and Prowl believes he had to simplify the overwhelming data to avoid going insane. While Perceptor ponders the ramifications of this, Prowl prepares to address the Autobots about their new problem.

  Back on Earth, Bumblebee and Jetfire are following Sunstorm's energy signature over the Gulf of Alaska. Bumblebee wonders if they're doing the right thing, and expresses jealousy at Jetfire's detatched, analytical approach. Their chat is interrupt by the sight of the water erupting before them; at the epicenter are Starscream and Sunstorm, who's using his energy powers to repel the ocean and expose an ancient Autobot hatch in the seabed. As the Autobots attack, Starscream opens the seal, exposing an underground cavern emitting strange energies.

  Jetfire races through the closing portal, slipping through in the nick of time, but is immediately ambushed by Starscream and Sunstorm. After a brief scuffle, Jetfire manages to subdue Starscream, but Sunstorm has captured Bumblebee, and the two face each other at the edge of a strange energy pool. The standoff ends when Starscream suddenly shoots Sunstorm, Jetfire, and Bumblebee, leaving himself victorious!

  Sunstorm attempts one last ambush, but Starscream guns him down, then kicks him into the pool to burn to his death...
