Summary
Sammy tries to get Josh to quit moping and come out of the room; Josh says his old life is over and his name is Jay now, what the guys in his band called him. Sammy asks if he wants to talk about his dead girlfriend; Jay starts to cry.
Bobby tries to get Alex to touch Xorn to see if he's alive, but Alex is wary; Lorna senses magnetic forces converging in Xorn's head. Cain suggests that Xorn's power was sucking everything into his head, till the nearby twisted corpse was able to get his helmet back on. The original Xorn had a star for a brain (2001 Ann.); Logan confirms this is another Xorn; Alex asks Cain how he knows all this, and he says he read the school bulletin board; Bobby and Logan mock him, and he admits he's no "braniac," but he can see what happened here. Alex decides to take Xorn back to the mansion.
Jay and Sammy walk the grounds; Jay says he woke up underwater, with Julia dead in his arms (UXM 441); he tried to kill himself, but he couldn't die, since he has the same healing power as Warren. Jay can't stop thinking about her; she was even beautiful when lying there dead, but he says that sounds sick. Sammy reassures him it doesn't; he loved her. They see students talking to a tree about Cain, which is weird even for Xavier's; they approach, but the students run off; Black Tom Cassidy's shadow peeks out (last seen UXM 412).
Bobby uses an ice slide to get everyone to the surface. He been a nay-sayer this whole time; he thinks it's reckless to transport Xorn when there's just a metal helmet shielding a black hole and wants them to call in a scientist, Hank maybe. Cain mocks him but Remy and Lorna are also concerned; this may be another of Magneto's plots (she is unaware of Excalibur II:2).
Before they get to their jet they are confronted by the Eight Immortals, "chosen protectors of the ancient Chinese homeland." They want Xorn, and when Alex tries to explain, they attack. Alex gets nun-chucked, Logan gets scratched, Cain gets a blow-dart in his eyes. Lorna wraps her attacker in his own crutches but is then attacked telepathically and collapses. Bobby confronts a swordsman who smashes his ice; Bobby temporarily freezes him over entirely, but he breaks free and starts chipping away at him. Remy is entwined with vines, and his power won't work; Rogue topples his attacker; a gun goes off, hitting the card in Remy's hand, and it explodes, blinding him. Alex tries to reason with the nun-chucker, till Cain demands he stop talking and blow something up; he does, telling his team to hit the dirt and then clearing the field with one blast.
They get Xorn into the jet, but Cain notices his helmet was damaged by Alex's blast and is leaking. They team runs for it, but all are sucked toward the black hole.
