Summary
On a mountain in the Himalayas, Logan can be seen making a climb up the mountain. Unfortunately, he slips, and plunges into a ravine. The landing knocks him unconscious.
Back in hightown Madripoor, a man named Khan reports to Viper that they had lost contact with Logan at the foot of the mountain that Logan was climbing. Viper refuses to send men to find him. Viper recalls back to how he had to drug Logan's friend in order to bring Logan to her so that he would repay his debt of honor he owed by marrying her. Although Sabretooth interfered with their wedding ceremony, she was able to use this to her advantage, by using Logan, Sabretooth, and Shadowcat to destroy the plans of the Hand and Hydra, the two organization which threatened her power. Due to her marriage to Logan, the people had to accept Viper as their leader of the underworld in Madripoor. She tends to a hidden lab in her office where two Hydra agents were disposing of dying HYDRA agents, infected by some sort of lethal poison.
Back on the mountain, Logan can be seen reclimbing up the side of the mountain that he had slipped on. He recalls back to how he had gotten himself to climb the mountain: Logan had received word from Viper that she had sent some of her men to look for a lost city called Shangri-La, in the mountain that Logan was climbing, and only three had returned. She told him that the three who came back were infected with some kind of lethal virus which was killing the survivors painfully, and wanted to send Logan to find the city and obtain a sample of the virus so that she could create an antidote for it. As Logan climbs up, he finds the torn remains of the gear that one of Viper's men had been wearing, and nearby, a cave.
Inside the cave, Logan finds old articles of clothing and accessory from many years back, including one surviving and scared HYDRA agent. There, the HYDRA agent, whom Logan refers to as "Boy", tells Logan that they had never found the virus (even though Viper had told Logan that they had). He and his fellow agents were sent to this mountain to search for some virus that she was interested in which scientists all over the globe was trying to find for years. (This information that she had about this virus was given to her by an old visiting monk.) The HYDRA hazmat team, which he was a part of, found nothing, and it was during the trip down when the team got caught in a snowstorm. Only a few made it through the snowstorm, but he, who took refuge in a cave, got left behind. In the cave, the "Boy" thought he was seeing some kind of animal while he was there.
Just then, a strange, spider-like creature attacks from above. The creature manages to injure Logan. Logan's body was having a hard time trying to filter out the venom that the spider-like creature had injected into him when the creature had made contact. Logan suspected that this creature may have been from somewhere else since no poison on earth had ever given him so much pain. As Logan cringes in pain, trying to let his healing factor filter out the poison, the creature goes for the cowardly "Boy". With bone claws extended and a shear willpower to survive, Logan attacks the creature. The creature puts on a tough fight against Logan, but in the end, due to its lust for blood, the creature was killed by Logan, who was fighting for his life. Logan tells the "Boy" to disappear forever when they reached base camp if he wanted to save his own life, since Viper "don't take too kindly to failure".
Logan returns back to Madripoor, where he presents Viper with a piece of the creature. But Logan throws the piece of the creature into an acid pit, since he knew Viper was planning to use the virus from the creature, replicate it, and use it to kill people. The remains of the creature that Logan had killed was burned after Logan had left an explosive in the cave after he and the "Boy" had returned to base camp.
