The Mask of Ogun

Summary

  Arriving back home to Salem, as he is travelling through the George Washington Bridge towards New York City, Logan has a run-in with Ghost Rider, who tells him that a spirit from Logan's past, Ogun, was back in New York City, his evil influence being felt by Ghost Rider. The two heads for the Metropolitan Museum where inside, they discover the doors blasted open and the guards unconscious.

  Inside, in a japanese exhibit, Logan, to his horror, discovers a demonic mask that he thought he had destroyed in the past when he killed Ogun. Ghost Rider tells him how certain artifacts of the black arts can't be unmade by normal means, and had to be mystically broken before it is truely destroyed. Hearing a sound elsewhere, the two heads to investigate and discovers how the suit of a japanese armor was mising. Suddenly, both realize that it was a decoy and that all it was an attempt to lure them away from the mask. By the time they got back to the mask, it had disappeared. From the back, the two are attacked by Ogun. Ghost Rider joins the fight to help Logan, but both are unable to defeat him. They give chase to him. Ogun purposely discards his sword and keeps telling Logan to attack him since he's unarmed. This brings back memories of in the past when he was training under Ogun, and when Ogun had been unarmed, but was still able to hit Logan with a few blows, Logan had lost it and had allowed his animal instinct to take over.

  Back to the present, he suddenly realizes that he didn' tknow where the sword was. The sword had been thrown straight up, but luckily, Ghost Rider saves Logan from the falling sword by using his chain to knock it away. Logan takes the sword and slices Ogun's mask in half. The figure vanishes, but not without Logan catching a glimpse of the face behind it: his face.

  Back at the X-Mansion, where Sabretooth was a guest there, Gambit and Sabretooth has a slight confrontation, but the force field protected Gambit by keeping Sabretooth locked in. Knowing that Logan was bound to come back, Sabretooth was geting prepared for him.
