E IS FOR EXTINCTION PART 1

E is for Extinction
Summary

By the Sydney opera house, Scott and Logan smash Sentinels, probably left over from OZT.

Nova, a biologist, shows Trask a recreation of homo sapiens killing Neanderthals. Trask is sickened; Nova says the same thing will recur, unless they (humanely) exterminate mutants.

Hank, in his new, more awkward form (see X-Treme X-Men 3), has completed Cerebra, a more powerful Cerebro. Xavier tries it on for size and sees mutant signatures around the world. Hank notices a spike in South America, but it vanishes.

Scott flies back from Australia. Logan is badly burnt but healing. They have rescued Steve, an ugly, triple-faced mutant, and are taking him back for medical treatment. En route, Xavier makes a mental conference call.

This Trask is Bolivar's nephew and a dentist in Albuquerque. Nova takes him to Ecuador, where a Master Mold was set up for testing, programmed to make Sentinels from anything available.

Xavier preps his students to teach the next generation; school starts Monday. All welcome the new, less outlandish uniforms. He asks Scott and Logan to detour to Ecuador and check it out. Logan notices Scott's tension around Jean, but he doesn't want to discuss it.

Nova finds and attacks Xavier in Cerebra. She wants to replace him and make him a murderer and claims to be his first and secret enemy (before Shadow King? Lucifer? Cain Marko?). Xavier threatens to shoot himself in the head; Nova retreats; Jean gets Xavier out of the machine, but he won't explain things to her.

Nova had told Trask he was to do secret root canal on the President, but when he sees her undead soldiers and rogue Sentinels, he realizes he's in deep. The Sentinels recognize his voice print as Trask, so they'll obey him, and Nova plans genocide.
