Summary

  Logan stands, claws unsheathed, in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Across a chasm he faces off against a crowd of cyborgs.

  Earlier in New York: Logan walks in Central Park and passes a girl, Fusa, who calls him by name, and says her people need his help. There's no time to answer Logan's questions; she takes his hand and transports him through a vortex; part-way through, he releases her hand and flies away from her.

  Fusa arrives and tells her people she lost him, but she's sure he crossed over. Yaa senses a humanoid near the Shikishiro River, still alive, she thinks.

  Logan bounces and slides down a stone rampart, landing at the edge of a chasm. He looks as the post-apocalyptic landscape and wonders where he is. A ticking ball lands near him, spins, and transforms into a large cyborg. It attacks, batting Logan away and then leaping to follow him. Logan slashes, dissecting it, but to his dismay, it doesn't stop.
