Staring Contests are for Suckers

Summary

Mastermind is angry she's been in a tank while her half-sister has been claiming the family heritage (X-treme X-Men 6-9). Mystique gloats over Sean, bleeding to death on the floor.

The X-Men are retrieving stray Multiple Men: M grabs them from their helicopters, which Warren blows up with a rocket launcher. Multiple Man then reabsorbs his dupes, slowing regaining control from Mastermind.

  Avalanche topples the Eiffel Tower.

At X-Corps base, Blob battles Jubilee and Husk, and then Stacy arrives, ready for a rematch.

Fever Pitch sets the Louvre ablaze; Bobby decides to act.

Over dead Multiple Men, Mystique plans to blitzkrieg Europe, destroy Xavier's plans, and make the world fear mutants. Mastermind starts to lose control; Mystique yells at her, saying her father was better.

Sean staggers to Abyss, who's stuck in a lab with Sunpyre's corpse.

Bobby ices over the entire Louvre, and Fever Pitch with it. Warren realizes what this battle, over a major city, will mean to the mutant cause.

Stacy has put Blob down with her ecstasy power; Jubilee thinks it's cool, but Husk questions such methods.

Alarms go off in X-Corps base. Mystique finds Sean and threatens to hasten his demise, but Abyss appears, refusing to let her kill again. He swallows her, then warns Sean that he's out of control; Husk and Jubilee have to pull him away before he gets swallowed, too, and they realize that's what he planned.

Aftermath: Paris will rebuild; Cerebra's tracking Kurt and Jon; Mystique could have landed anywhere; Radius and Sunpyre are dead; Sean has to learn to live with his mistakes, but he just looks out the window at Paris in ruins, while Warren stands guardian angel over his hospital bed.

Note: The Call of Duty follows.
