Summary

  Jon sees the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and realizes he's in an illusion. Mastermind shows herself and says he's trespassing in her subconscious.

  The other X-Men observe Leyu's lab, with Abyss in a tank. She says he's a gateway to a void dimension; her brother declined Sean's invitation; she feels no bond to the X-Men and scorches Warren's hand when he touches her.

  Eisen is on the TV, bragging that his group killed Surge. Sean sends his "angels" to find him: M, Jubilee, and Husk go to Zurich and have their helicopter shot down.

  Jon traipses through Mastermind's mind with her; she enjoys indulging her dark impulses (iss. 401) and psychoanalyzes Jon, saying he's still finding his way.

  The girls are ambushed by ARM's army, but Sean has his own army ready: Multiple Man.

  Mastermind has a job to do, so she traps Jon in a furnace, says he should develop his psi-talent, and leaves. He just blasts his way out and follows her.

  Sean and the X-Men get to Zurich after the fighting is done; Sean is loudly distraught that he hasn't found Eisen and that there were deaths.

  Leyu was attacked while recording notes in her lab; Abyss tried to yell, but he's behind glass.

  Jon finds Mastermind talking to someone (Mystique, see next iss.), who planted her in Sean's group to subvert it. Jon is detected and zapped; in the physical world Blob, Avalanche, Fever Pitch, and Surge (not dead, and evidently really Mystique) stand over his body.
