Summary
On Muir Island, Jean Grey and Cyclops flies in on the Blackbird to search for the lost X-Men. Instead, they encounter a bunch of Phalanx beings which had assimilated most of Muir Island itself. As they are under attack, Logan arrives to Muir Island after hitching a ride with Harry Tabeshaw on Harry's airplane to rejoin the X-Men. Once arriving, he is immediately put to the test fighting the Phalanx beings. Needing to get into the Muir Island facility to gain access to a computer within to locate where the missing X-Men were, the three X-Men slowly fights their way to get inside.
Just then, Cable appears on the scene to join their fight. Cable had received the same information that Wolverine had received about the Phalanx and where to join up with the remaining X-Men. To get inside the compound, Jean and Cable join up to fight the Phalanx on the Astro-plane while Cyclops and Wolverine would sneak in as the Phalanx are busy fighting Jean and Cable. Jean and Cable momentarily disturb the Phalanx as Cyclops and Wolverine fight their way in. The Phalanx were able to knock Cable off the Astral plane since he was most vulnerable to them there. But they had bought enough time for Cyclops and Wolverine to gain access to Cerebro within and find the remainding X-Men. Cable resorts to using physical means to fight the Phalanx, and he uses his plasma canon to hold off the Phalanx beings while Cyclops and Wolverine made their way back out. Harry Tabeshaw arrives on his plane to pick up the four X-Men. Cable was going to stay behind and fend off the Phalanx while the other three X-Men escapes, but after finding himself at the mercy of a Phalanx being, Wolverine returns to save him, and right when the self-destruction mechanism explodes in Muir Island (because they had activated it when they accessed Cerebro), the two are saved by Harry on the plane and Jean with her telekinetic powers.
The four X-Men are bound for Tibet where Cerebro had located the remaining X-Men.
