Summary
The Hanks, McCoy and Pym, scramble to help Clarice while she tells Calvin they have to "blow it up." She's been infected with the virus in its purest form, and transfusions of blood with a mutant healing factor can only keep it at bay for a while. Pym asks Calvin what she was talking about; he hesitantly explains they are supposed to destroy the world now, before the Vi-locks take over the universe. Pym has been ready for that contingency.
Kevin gets Rachel to concentrate on an incantation to summon help which he assures her really exists.
Pym tells the heroes that Mainframe is fueled by an underground nuclear reactor; nearby the Vi-locks have collected nukes so the humans can't use them. If they hit the stockpile, the explosion will split the planet. A missile would be stopped, so somebody needs to fly the Warbird in. T.J. volunteers, over Heather's objections: the Avengers don't have much experience at piloting since the Vi-locks took over.
Calvin sits by Clarice's unconscious form, stumbling over his words and apologizing for not being eloquent. She let him be weak, which was hard for him; he loves her and tells her not to die.
Pym reminds T.J. that all verbal communication goes through Frost because the Vi-locks can pick up radio. T.J. is about to take off when someone sneaks up behind her.
The Warbird launches; Frost says she's lost T.J., and Leech senses her in the room. She shows up, yelling that Calvin nerve-pinched her and took the jet. They contact him, and he explains he's a better pilot and wants to make sure T.J. lives. Suddenly the jet's wing burst into flame, and there's a radiation leak. Calvin turns to steel, which shuts off telepathic contact.
Rachel runs in to announce her call was heard: the gods of Asgard have arrived. Kevin realized they were missing on many of the worlds the Exiles visited, which may explain why they were still messed up.
Pym says the Asgardian blood mixed with the mutant healing factor will cure the virus. Now they have to stop Calvin; desperately, Pym tells Spider-woman to alert the Vi-locks. Forge may not completely believe her, but he has his team attack the Warbird. Calvin puts the jet on autopilot and fights them off.
Clarice wakes, asking for Calvin, but he's aiming the jet downward. Just in time, Clarice teleports aboard, explains, and has him send the jet skyward before she ports him off.
The heroes celebrate, Pym rambles on about Asgardian blood, and Kevin warns a mystified Thor about Beta Ray Bill. Then the Timebroker appears with the new Exile: Illyana. One of them has fixed their timeline and is leaving. Clarice realizes Calvin is now wearing the Tallus; then she disappears. Everyone is shocked.
Note: the AOA is fixed? Wasn't it supposed to be a "never was"?
