Summary
Sinister has hooked up the Brain Trust: 6disembodied telepaths who anesthetize the prisoners ofhis pens, but it doesn't work on everyone. Chang andDuPris are making a break for it, following an imageof Magneto. Polaris sees him and asks to go, too, buthe says the risk of discovery is too great.
Alex and Scott discuss Sinister with Apocalypse: heknows to expect a devious plot but is convinced hewill endure. He offers to make Scott his nextHorseman, which infuriates Alex.
The Guthries tell Alex about the escape, and they goto interrogate Polaris. She says it was her father,Magneto; Alex says she's crazy and slaps her; sheattacks him with her power; he turns her over toBeast, who knows her story: parents killed in aculling, she manifested her magnetism and went mad,power stolen by Rogue.
Scott has the Bedlams investigate the remains ofSinister's base in the statue of Apocalypse. Angelvisits, worried that a war is about to start. Alexvisits Scarlett and says he's plotting to get rid ofhis brother. Scarlett is an informant for the HumanHigh Council, but she wants out before she's capturedlike Karma.
Polaris's magnetism screws up Beast's scanners, so heplans brain surgery, but Scott stops him, since thatwould violate the Kelly Pact. Beast tells him the Pactis a ploy, and Apocalypse will destroy all humans.Scott asserts his authority, now that Sinister isgone, and Beast submits.
That night, a cloaked figure with one red eye rescuesher from the pens. She thinks it's Magneto. Northstarand Aurora catch them, having been alerted by Alex,but Scott and Polaris knock them out. Scott hands herover to Val, and Alex sees them.
