Fall Back and Spring Forward

Summary

  1937. The scene: Back in the mountain pass. Wolverine is defeating Schlachter's men with his claws. Little does he know, though, that Lady Deathstrike was taking the high road to attack Wolverine. Captain Schlachter decides to take his men through the Eroica pass, where Logan and Deathstrike were bound to come head-on-head. As they battled, a time vortex formed. Schlachter shows up in his tank, which accidently runs over one of Deathstrike's arm. Deathstrike kills him for that, which causes the time vortex to grow. Logan decides to go back into the Vortex to return back to their time.

  At that moment, Puck suddenly wakes up, and hurls himself after Logan towards the vortex, drawing himself into it, too.

  Back in the present, in Australia, Pierce is hit by the Vortex, which was expelling pieces of a map. Looking up the information on it, he discovers that Deathstrike had altered the timeline by causing the death of Schlachter six years early. In the background, we see that Pierce was working on some cyborg in the form of a little girl. We best know her as Elsie Dee.

  Meanwhile, Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike continues their fight onto the battleship where Deathstrike's father had commited kamikaze on, then into the tank where Deathstrike had underwent her cyborg transformation with the help of Spiral, and then into the South Street Seaport where Wolverine had first fought the new and improve Lady Deathstrike (from X-Men #204). Then they both fall into the river, as when Logan came up, he discovers that he was back into the present. Puck was still there. Logan asked if Puck remembered anything that had just happened. Puck didn't know what Logan was talking about. But after seeing the snapshot, Puck was stunned at seeing Logan in it, for Logan never was with him in the past that Puck remembered.

  In another place during the present, Lady Deathstrike finds herself with what appeared to be Logan. She was about to kill him, until Pierce stops her. Lady Deathstrike was shocked to see that what appeared to be Logan was a synthetic human being that Pierce was working on. We know him best as Albert. And the little girl that he was working on was the real killer. He calls her Elsie Dee.
