Summary
The book begins off with a scene of an embattled Wolverine fighting a Silver Fox that he is not familiar of, John Wraith, and Sabretooth, who Logan still wonders if he was actually his father. Suddenly, the image shifts, and the images of the three going against Logan shifts from being the bad guys into the good guys for him. Next thing he knows, Logan finds himself being shaken by Jubilee, telling him to wake up because their flight back from Japan is being diverted onto a S.H.I.E.L.D. Heli-carrier.
Greeted by Nick Fury, Nick informs Logan that someone with a lot of connections wans to meet him on Terra Firma. With Jubilee, Logan heads to Terra Firma, and there, they encounter John Wraith. With his gun, Wraith has it pointed at Jubilee, because Logan was supposed to come alone. This triggers a memory in Logan about a time back when he, Sabretooth, and Wraith were in the jungles of Southeast Asia, and how Wraith was unwilling to kill a female who had saw everything they did. Then another memory triggers to another time when Wraith escaped the death tentacles of Omega Red.
Back to reality, Wraith tossed to Logan the head of one of the Shiva robot, which, upon Logan catching it, triggers an electronic pulse which causes Logan to have another memory flashback. This time, the scene is in Cuba, and once again, he's working as an operative with Sabretooth, Wraith, and Mastodon. Another memory then triggers of Wraith being captured by something being lead by Sivler Fox. The memories continues until Jubilee grabs the head of the Shiva robot from Logan and throws it to the ground, smashing it to bits.
Logan and Jubilee then finds themselves in Los Angeles at Wraith's home. Inside, they are greeted rudely by two teenagers burglers armed with machine guns, but are stopped when Wraith threatens to kill them from behind. But there, Logan meets up with Mastodon, who had aged considerably since the last time he had met him. Wraith wasn't sure why Mastodon had aged so fast, so he is trying to find the rest of the members of the team (from the Weapon X project), which included Silver Fox (who Logan had thought was dead), as well as Sabretooth, which doesn't please Wolverine at all.
