Summary

On the anniversary of Mariko's death, Logan arrives in Japan and at an ancient temple on the outskirts of Tokyo where he and Mariko were supposed to have had their wedding, he pays his respect to her. Yukio shows up to warn him about ninjas of the Hand who were outside to attack him as payback for what he had done to their leader, Matsuo. The fight outside was short and brief, since Logan's healing factor wasn't what it used to be and suffers a wound to the head. Yukio joins in the fight and informs the ninjas that this couldn't be Logan because this person that they were fighting didn't have adamantium claws and a healing factor, and that this guy could be a decoy.

Later on that day, Yukio takes Logan to her small shack in Tokyo. Logan offers to give her money so that she could have a better place, but she refuses it. They spend the rest of the night talking and drinking.

Meanwhile, in a remote area of Canada, Bloodscream is traveling in the pickup truck that he had taken back in Wolverine #80. While traveling, he senses at a burial mound a figure displaced out of time, and in there, upon rummaging through it, he encounters Elsie Dee, who he at first thought was a person who miraculously hasn't decayed yet but discovers to be an android. He jumpstarts her batteries with the aid of his truck. She asks what year it was, and realizes that she and Albert had been on system sleep for three hundred years. They find Albert and jumpstarts his battery. Albert senses how Bloodscream wasn't human, and he says that like Logan, he was a mutant.

On Muir Island, Moira warns Expediterof Logan's situation: how his immune system is deteriorating and he was seemingly going through a type of physical regression.

In Tokyo, Amiko is made fun of by two of her classmates, and gets into a small fight with them. Logan, who just arrived, breaks up the fight, though Amiko doesn't recognize him.

Later, Amiko is seen dragged into an apartment by her caretakers for ripping up her school uniform. Logan shows up and presents himself as Zoe Culloden (he had Expediter's card on him), and that he was there to check up on the welfare of Amiko. Upon questioning Amiko about her condition, he decides that he would take her away because her caretakers had been pocketing money that was meant for her. The caretakers refuses to part with her, saying how there was no way that he would be able to take her away nor stop the money that was going into a special trust that was paying out to them instead of Amiko.

That night, in his Wolverine outfit, Logan manages to "rescue" Amiko and after threatening her caretakers, he takes her to Yukio's place. There, Logan asks Yukio to take care for her while he pays for her finances. Yukio tells Logan that even if she could care for her, the authorities wouldn't let a street-roamer like her to care for a child like Amiko. Just then, Silver Samurai walks in. It seems that Logan and him had made a deal that Samurai would use his influence and power to buy off the authorities, as well as care for the welfare of the child, in exchange for the honor sword of the Yashida clan that Logan had in his posession. Yukio promises to care for Amiko as one of her own.
