Zero Tolerance
Summary
Note: this is part of the Operation: Zero Tolerance (OZT) crossover.
Jean wakes to find Iron Man, assumed dead since Onslaught. She attacks him, but before he can respond, she is pulled back to her own universe. Iron Man contacts Reed Richards to research the X-Men.
A honeymoon couple hikes in Colorado. They see OZT's craft attack the X-Men's charter jet, and Sam rushes out to defend them. On TV, Gyrich says the X-Men started it, and that OZT is an international force to contain the "Mutant Menace." Some people cheer; others recognize the bigotry.
The new generation of Sentinels looks human; they attack Sam while Scott, Ororo, and Jean are still busy stabilizing the damaged jet. Scott blasts at the OZT craft; Sentinels capture him, then wrap up Ororo in polymer. Logan and Jean go down with the jet.
In Westchester, state police surround the mansion and wait for OZT to take charge. In a hospital in the Bronx, doctors watch the TV coverage and debate the mutant problem. Mr. Drake tells his boy to go be Iceman.
Bastion opens a channel to Xavier (labeled M-13) to gloat; he is in the mansion, having got its location from Jubilee's mind. He opens files on the Danger Room, the Xavier Protocols, and the Mutant Underground. All are in Shi'ar, but Bastion plans to decrypt them.
