Summary
Japan, where Logan is scene entering a temple with a rose in hand. Logan pays his respect to the former love of his life, Mariko Yashida, at her gravesite on the anniversary of the day that she had passed away in Logan's arms. He reflects about what has happened (Nightcrawler's near-death, Heather and James Hudson barely escaping the plane crash alive, Amiko now missing, and Yukio left paraplegic ... every single events with which he had been powerless to prevent. He recalls back at the hospital where he had visited Yukio, strapped face down on a table. Yukio tells Logan that she had let him down and failed in protecting Amiko. Logan asks her what happened. Yukio tells her that Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike were the culprits. She tells him to look at her back to find out what had happened to Yukio. On her back was a message that read "Want Amiko alive? Bellagio hotel, NV, WR + L.D." The message had been inscribed on her back by Lady Deathstrike. Yukio tells Logan the bad news: the damage to her spine was substantial, and there's a very likely chance that she may never walk again. If that was the case, she said, she wanted Logan to kill her since if she couldn't do the things she used to be able to do, she'd rather die than continue living. Logan begs her to reconsider (obviously, the memory of what he had been forced to do to Mariko Yashida weighed heavily on his conscious), but Yukio tells him that if he wouldn't do it, she could find countless others who would have no problems doing the deed. Logan tells her that he'd think about it.
Back in Canada at the Weapon X compound. Agent Kane reported to the director that he had determined that Sabretooth was behind it all. Not only did Sabretooth steal the director's access code to activate their secret weapon, but Sabretooth was also embezzling funds from their program and had copied a number of their most secretive files, including the "Logan files". Kane asks the director what the Logan files were. Agent Jackson appears, and tells Kane he'd have a better chance of "finding out where Hoffa's buried" than to find out what the Logan files were. Jackson tells the director how he had warned him about Sabreototh, how the director had felt that just leaving Sabretooth free out in the world to run rampant was okay with him, only to now have Sabretooth turn right around and steal precious information from the director. The director, furious, slaps Agent Jackson hard in the face.
Piloting a jet, Logan arrives in Las Vegas, and lands the jet directly in front of the Bellagio hotel to the dismay of the hotel doorman there. Brushing him off, Logan enters the hotel lobby, searching for Omega Red and/or Lady Deathstrike. From behind, a carbonadium tentacle sneaks up, grabs Logan, and throws him into a backroom where Logan finds himself facing off against Lady Deathstrike and Omega Red. Using her cyborg fingernails, Lady Deathstrike begins ripping away at Logan's chest. Logan, unphased, hurls a small ornamental pillar at her, and reveals that he had worn Guardian's uniform underneath, which protected his body from the neck down from any harm. Unfortunately, he let his emotion get the best of him, as that moment of hesistation allows Omega Red to release his death spores into the air, making Logan extremely groggy. Lady Deathstrike manages to rake Wolverine's unprotected face with her nails. Overmatched, Logan decides to flee.
Back to the Weapon X compound, where Jackson, furious, tries to kill the director. Unfortunately, he could not unleash his fist into the director's face. The dircetor grabs a chair and swings it at Jackson, knocking him out cold. The director reveals that he had been implanted with a chip that prevented aggressions towards his superiors. Jackson is dragged off by two guards as the director suspends Jackson until further notice. Turning his attention back to Agent Kane, Kane reveals that they were unable to access the transporters to transport to Sabretooth's location as Sabretooth had utilized the director's codes to lock them out of their own transporters. However, in doing so, Kane tells the director that Sabretooth was now using their teleporters to his own benefit along with Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike. However, Lady Deathstrike is a cyborg, and Agent Kane had set it up such that the next time Sabretooth utilized the transporter, he had rigged it up so that the three would end up at the Weapon X compound.
Logan makes a run for it as Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike pursuits. Logan disappears into the Cirque du Soleil auditorium, where a performance was going on. From behind, Logan grabs Lady Deathstrike's mask. He had noticed that although he had been affected by the death spores, Lady Deathstrike had not been affected, and he believed it was because of the mask she had on. Logan unleashed his claws, only to realize that without his healing factor, the claws were killing him. He realizes that if he stayed there longer, the death spore would kill everyone in the room. But nearby, he sees a flame thrower being used as part of the show. Remembering that the death spores were flammable, he directs the flame towards Omega Red, neutralizing Omega Red for the time being as he makes his escape upwards by climbing a curtain. Lady Deathstrike had recovered, and she wounds Logan in the foot with her nails. Logan cuts the curtains below him, leaving Lady Deathstrike to plummit to the ground. Logan makes it up to the walkway above the room, though hurting and slowed by the foot injury. He uses his claws to gain access to the next floor, where he lays down to rest from his wound. Unfortunately for him, Omega Red had recovered, and flings him out the window into the man-made lake in front of the Bellagio hotel. He tries to escape, but Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike manages to catch him, and Logan blacks out.
When he wakes up, Logan was being held captive by both Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike. In front of him was Sabretooth, sitting casually on a striped couch and a painting of a tiger above him. In his arm was his bounded prisoner and Logan's adopted daughter, Amiko.
