Summary
On ancient Cybertron, Optimus Prime leads a band of Autobots to survey the ruins of Mini-con village C52. Though Optimus fears the Decepticons are out to start a war, the Autobots still don't know why the Decepticons were after the Mini-cons. Meanwhile, the Decepticons have arrived at Cyber City, and Megatron orders his troops to begin the takeover.
Elsewhere, the Mini-con known as Sparkplug is reawakened, to find he has been rescued and repaired by three mysterious Mini-cons -- Runway, Jetstorm, and Sonar. They remove an explosive Decepticon tracker from Sparkplug, then tell him that they're hiding in the midst of Cybertron's garbage district. Sparkplug thinks they're crazy, a suspicion that's reinforced when they tell him of their next move -- to attack Decepticon headquarters, free the Mini-con prisoners there, and leave the planet in their homemade spaceship...
Back at Cyber City, Megatron announces himself as the city's new leader, and is immediately challenged by Optimus Prime and the Autobots. In response, the Decepticons attach Mini-cons to themselves, then leap into battle. The Autobots fight back, but are hopelessly overpowered. As Megatron announces his plans to conquer all of Cybertron, Optimus Prime reluctantly orders the Autobots to retreat and regroup.
Meanwhile, during the battle, Runway has led the Mini-cons to Decepticon headquarters, which is guarded by automated defenses. While Sparkplug is shanghai'd into distracting the motion blasters, the other Mini-cons break in and start to free their compatriots.
Inside Cyber City, the Decepticons are putting away their Mini-cons when Starscream reports a security breach -- the Mini-cons back at headquarters have escaped! Megatron can only howl in fury as their shuttle rockets towards the heavens, but the Mini-cons within are too busy celebrating to note that one of their ship's engines is malfunctioning...
