Summary
Hiding under the deserted mining town of Silver Ridge, Nevada, Megatron angrily pushes Leader-1's power output to the limit. Unfortunately, the Minicon can't produce enough strength to Megatron's satisfaction, and the Decepticon leader concludes that he'll have to find more Minicons elsewhere...
The next day, Carlos, Rad, and Alexis are playing through the Black Hills forest near Lincoln, Nebraska. As Alexis criticizes Rad for some reckless skateboarding, Optimus Prime and Sparkplug arrive as well. Optimus tells them that the Autobots and their Minicons are leaving, to avoid any further endangerment of the humans. As the kids protest, Sparkplug starts to question Optimus' decision, but is interrupted by an emergency Minicon transmission...
Meanwhile, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the Decepticons barge into an abandoned meat-packing plant -- where three more Minicons are hiding. Runway, sonar, and Jetstorm try to escape, but are quickly captured by Starscream and the others. As the Decepticons prepare to leave, Leader-1 reassures Megatron that he jammed any distress signals, to keep the operation a secret.
Back at Autobase, the Autobots have used a spy camera to learn the whereabouts of the Decepticon hideout. Optimus is hesitant to attack their fortified stronghold, but Sparkplug is more worried about the advantage Megatron can gain by combining the kidnapped Minicons' power. Sparkplug suggests that his Minicons stage a covert raid, but Optimus rejects the plan for fear they'd be kidnapped.
Later, outside the Decepticon base, Sparkplug, Longarm, and Jolt are reconeering it with the three kids. Sparkplug gives Rad a remote device -- with orders to activate it if they're not out in thirty minutes -- then leads the Minicons inside. They're quickly spotted by Starscream, but they manage to bury the Decepticon under a pile of rubble and escape.
Nearby, at his forge, Megatron smiles grimly as he lifts a sword created from the combined form of his three new Minicons -- a weapon dubbed the Star Saber...
