Summary
At the Alaskan crash site of the Minicon escape pod, Cyclonus is in a blind fury, burning with an overload of power from the Destruction Team. Megatron and Starscream watch from their base in Silver Ridge, and Megatron prides himself for not trusting Dualor (see last issue). He is about to fire the laser cannon at the pod, but Starscream points to the Autobot gunship arriving on the scene...
Inside the ship, Sky Blast notes the Destruction Team has disabled their safety interlocks. Before Optimus Prime can ask about this, the ship lands, and the Autobots and Minicons head out to rescue the others. As they secure the area, a searing bolt of energy blasts from the skies and incinerates the gunship!
Starscream chides Megatron for missing, but Megatron explains that it was deliberate -- to put the fear of helplessness into the Autobots. As more bolts fall from the skies to dig out the Minicon escape pod, Cyclonus leaps out of the ocean and charges the Autobots. Red Alert and Hotshot link up and engage him, but the Decepticon's too powerful for them to stop. While Prime sends Sky Blast into space to stop the cannon, Thrust escapes in the confusion.
Determined to stop Cyclonus' berserker fury, Optimus Prime links up with Sparkplug -- and charged with all of Sparkplug's power, Prime quickly knocks out Cyclonus with a swift uppercut. Then, as the Autobots watch helplessly from below, Sky Blast destroys the space cannon with seconds to spare. A frustrated Megatron orders Starscream to retrieve Cyclonus, then stomps off to brood.
As the others rescue the escape capsule, Optimus Prime asks Sparkplug about the Minicons' previously-hidden power levels. Sparkplug explains that it's a superstition that the Minicons usually avoid; an ancient prophecy that says they have a power that can either save or destroy the universe. Sparkplug looks up, only to see that Optimus Prime has disappeared...
Suddenly appearing on Cybertron, Optimus Prime is shocked to find it is now a devastated landscape of wildfire and destruction. And in an underwater capsule beneath Big Sur, California, the Minicon Over-Run arrives with a mysterious triangular artifact -- and a mission to warn Optimus Prime that chaos is coming!
