Another Rooster in the Hen House

Summary

The teams have freed David, but when he grows up after a lifetime of oppression, he will become a mutant dictator over humanity, so the Tallus says he should die. Clarice discusses it with Creed, and Vision overhears.

The Weapon X team is eager to get the job done; once, when Creed didn't let them kill Gambit, they were stuck on that world for months and finally had to kill him and Rogue, too.

Creed pretends to agree, but he says, "rabbit hunt," to Clarice, an old code phrase for her to port everyone away. As the fight starts, and Creed breaks Deadpool's neck, she blinks them repeatedly, till they're out of range of Vision's sensors.

The Timebroker appears, saying unless David's killed, everyone's stuck till their old universes call them back to an altered life. Weapon X and the Exiles are two sides of the same coin, and there isn't good or evil but just what must be done to repair the timelines. He says he's just a construct of their collective consciousness, so he can't do much, but he points out that Vision has located them.

Iron Man has replaced Deadpool and is first to attack. Creed makes Clarice get the children away. The teams battle, trading hit for hit, till Sentinels arrive and attack them all, first destroying Vision. Iron Man's armor is disabled, but then Clarice appears and takes them all to safety, even Weapon X.

Kevin sits on Iron Man, refusing to push his reset button, while Creed convinces Clarice to leave him behind with the kids. He'll raise David so he comes out right, and everyone else can move on. He assures her they'll meet again.

Note: an installment of The Call of Duty follows.
