Summary

  Flashback: Inside Unicron itself, Alpha Quintesson addresses his newest recruit, Tidal Wave. Now with a new body and renamed Mirage, he asks why Alpha Quintesson needs him at all, since Scorponok and the Terrorcons are also his servants. Stating that he seeks servants with no loyalty for Scorponok, Alpha Quintesson pairs Mirage with Slugslinger and Sharkticon, then sends them to Earth on a mission...

  Flash forward to the present, where Mirage and Slugslinger are merrily pounding the Omnicons. Dazed at first, the Omnicons soon realize that the Decepticons' real target is Kicker -- who has been captured by Sharkticon during their fight!

  Elsewhere inside Unicron, Optimus Prime gapes as he watches the Terrorcons' rampage on Earth. Megatron explains that the meaningless attack is only to instill terror in the humans, then asks Optimus once more to set him free. Prime refuses, prompting Megatron to let the scenes of carnage continue...

  In Los Angeles, Rad is choked up over the apparent death of Alexis. She surprises him by turning up alive, having jumped out of the cab when the attack started, and Rad surprises her with a heartfelt embrace before they head for some shelter of their own.

  On Cybertron, Jetfire thanks Councillor Avalon for convincing the High Council to send more Autobots to Earth. Prowl bursts in with news of the Terrorcon attack, and Jetfire immediately orders a strike team to be assembled. Joined by a dozen Autobots -- and the redesigned yet nostalgic Perceptor -- Jetfire leads the Autobots through the Space Bridge for an immediate counterattack against the Terrorcon legions...

  Back inside Unicron, Optimus Prime scales the alien terrain of Unicron's internal systems. With Megatron shielding him from Unicron's internal defenses, Prime navigates past broken spires, slime pits, and dark tunnels, in order to disable a sensor array and allow Megatron's spark to be uploaded to his new body. Before Optimus can finish the job, however, he is suddenly beseiged by Unicron's defenses...

  In his private quarters on Cybertron, Councillor Avalon holds an ancient artifact as he watches events unfolding with quiet confidence. All is in place now, the players moving in well-tooled symmetry, a cosmic conundrum to mask a new beginning. A grand scheme, known only to Councillor Avalon ... and his comrade, the Alpha Quintesson!
