Summary

  Cap gloats that he's indestructible, till Heather breaks through the roof below him and bashes him; Wasp blasts her gets Cap to flee because they're outnumbered.

  The team tends to Mariko, who's in shock and already growing fangs. Calvin has Illyana port them to England to get Crichton's expert help. Crichton's first impulse is to stake her before it's too late, but T.J. stops him and then Mariko bursts into flame.

  Calvin and Kevin try to subdue her, while part of the mansion explodes. Heather knocks her out with one tap, and Crichton administers anti-toxins and the Amulet of Quiox, but the only way to stop her becoming a vampire is kill Cap, but he's already begun the Macodibe Enchantment. They'll need the Soul Sword of Bata's Circle to kill him, but they're rare; Illyana fortuitously has one right there.

  The site of Kolock's tomb is in a park, where Cap, Wasp and Falcon have taken the totem and chanted the incantation. All the people of San Francisco suddenly go blank. T.J. arrives and grabs the totem; Crichton pounces on Cap; Wasp and Falcon chase T.J. because the enchantment isn't complete yet, but the rest of the Exiles defend her.

  Cap and Crichton fight, a welcome rematch for both of them. Crichton punches Cap, and he falls backwards onto Illyana's sword and dies. Crichton starts laughing menacingly with his now blacked eyed looking up toward the sky. Crichton now announces himself as the Vampire King, heir of his great-uncle John, Baron Blood. He's about to bite Illyana, but Mariko incinerates all the vampires at a stroke.

  The mission is over and the team begins to port, but Crichton in his dying moment lifts a charred hand and hexes them, splitting them into different realities.

  Kevin and Heather are in the snows of Canada, with a crazed, naked Wolverine howling at them.
