Summary

  The Brood spread like locusts, infecting hosts and transforming them. Calvin, with the powers of Colossus, Wolverine, Beast, Cyclops, and Northstar, will enable the Brood to devour the planet. He attacks Stark, but Kevin grabs him and realizes he's been transformed. He eye-blasts Kevin; Reed blasts him with his matter reconstruction thingy; he punches Reed out; Ben punches him into the air, and he flies off towards Manhattan. Heather figures the Brood-Queen will have implanted him with a queen, which wants him to fight to keep his healing factor occupied while she takes over.

  Downtown, T.J. is impressed how orderly the crowd is evacuating. Reed calls Sue with the news about Calvin, just as he crashes nearby. T.J. tells her to attack till he's down, and Johnny blasts him, but he just mimics his power and blasts back. Now part Brood, he's able to copy more than 5 powers. Illyana slashes with her sword and gets slashed with claws; Sue tries out her invisible force field; he crushes the pavement under her and spills the beans about her marrying Reed. T.J. tries hex bolts; he's happy to copy her various powers and tosses her away.

  In the lab, Reed, Stark, and Octavius have trouble finding a cure and realize it might kill him.

  Mariko duels with Calvin, but he's got her and Johnny's powers and can outlast her. He eye-blasts; she ducks; it hits a wall; she goes to disintegrate the debris before it falls on bystanders; exhausted, she collapses and is buried. Kevin duels with Calvin, who plans to pass his power on to his progeny. Ben and Heather arrive, but Calvin has become too strong and punches them away. He tells them to gaze upon their master and their God. Kevin mocks his self-aggrandizement.

  Reed arrives and rallies the heroes; T.J. jumps into Calvin, possessing him long enough so Ben can punch Reed's cure into his eye, his weakest part. The radiation and narcotics calm him long enough for his healing factor to destroy the Brood egg.

  Kevin brings Mariko's body; she suffocated under the rubble. Kevin, distraught, blames Calvin and says it should have been him. Clarice appears; she's back as their teammate.
