King Hyperion

Summary

Gambit holds a wounded Storm, as Spider uses his webs to hold off soldiers and debates Colossus over whether they need to kill Bruce Banner to stop him; Vision says it would be safest, so Ms. Marvel cheerfully crushes his skull. Storm begs for Gambit not to leave her there, but the team is teleported to their next mission, leaving dead Storm and Banner behind. Hyperion stands there, their new member, and Gambit, angry, storms off without consulting the Tallus. Colossus realizes their in Xavier's mansion, in ruins.

On Asteroid M, Quicksilver reports the Sentinels have destroyed Xavier's, but there are some wounded survivors. Magneto orders him to leave them to their fate.

Spider doesn't want to return to his universe: he was in jail there, and he's not really helping the team but just having fun. Nobody knows what would happen if they just refuse to complete the mission.

Hyperion realizes Ms. Marvel is coming on to him, and he rips her costume and takes her, right there in the ruins with dead bodies all around.

Vision retrieves Gambit; the Tallus says they are to kill the surviving mutants: 3 on Earth and 7 on Asteroid M; Colossus doesn't want to face Magneto.

Ms. Marvel enjoyed it, but Hyperion is disgusted by her. He can see through walls and orders someone to comet out of the closet; a young Shadowcat appears; Ms. Marvel is shocked she was watching them; Hyperion orders Shadowcat behind him as Colossus enters, but she phases through him and hugs Colossus, who has to explain he's not the one she knows. He's about to carry out the mission and kill her, but Hyperion has his own plan: they're going to ignore their mission, stay there, and rule the world, obviously.

On Asteroid M, Forge has an asteroid rigged to drop onto Earth and destroy all life there. Magneto will then lead them to a new world, probably a Kree world. His last words to mankind are "Good riddance."

Spider finds Cyclops' visor; Vision tries to make Hyperion follow the mission, so he uses his eyebeams to blast him to pieces. He tells the team to relax, that he doesn't plan to destroy them all, and he plans for them to rule as gods here. Gambit is suspicious, but they all go along to avoid getting blasted. Spider is ready to kill whomever, and he points out Vision is still partly functioning; Hyperion wants to make sure the Timebroker doesn't send anyone else.

Forge's asteroid has some trouble launching, but Quicksilver tells him to just cut the power and let gravity take over. In a few hours, mankind will go the way of the dinosaur.
