Dream’s End Chapter 1

Summary

  Note: this occurs after X-Men II:91.

  Majcomb and Nina are holed up in North Carolina, but Nina says they're coming.

  The X-Men are awakened in the middle of the night by an alarm in the Danger Room. Xavier is just testing them, and they are testy, saying he's pushing too hard.

  Bishop and Deathbird are on their way back to earth, when sensors detect fossilized mutant DNA, on a man-shaped asteroid (the Monolith, see iss. 376).

  The X-Men work out as ordered and push their limits. Rogue hits some debris toward Wolverine, and Kitty quickly phases him out of the way.

  Nina has a telekinetic fit, then disappears.

  Xavier forces Marrow to try to reabsorb her bone growths, and she nearly does, but Ororo and Remy protest his overbearing attitude. Xavier says Remy is free to leave, so he and Marrow storm off. Xavier tells the rest to keep training. They decide he's lost it and try to discuss it with him, but he only admits Ororo to his office. Nightcrawler stays to report the outcome; Ororo just says something is wrong, and they need to call Phoenix.

  The Mannites have Nina.
