How Many Albanians Does It Take To Screw in a Light Bulb?

Summary

Kosovo, 1999: Gani's brother Mikael was killed and his sister Sofia raped by Serbs. An Albanian Muslim, he shot Sofia to restore honor. Serbian "ethnic cleansing" was more of the endless Eastern Orthodox-Muslim conflict (since Mohammed's adopted son Zayd ibn-Harithath invaded Byzantine Palestine in 629 AD, actually). UN bombs had little effect, especially when they hit the wrong target.

Cable walks to Macedonia, where the conflict is now. Not in control of his powers, he physically overpowers Serbian guards and takes their car to Skopje.

Cvetkovski made an airborne disease that infects only Albanians and is testing it in a nearby army base.

Cable's stolen Yugo runs out of gas, but Hoyle gives him a ride; he's a talkative American photojournalist. Cable checks into a hotel the CIA use, and Hoyle takes his photo.

The UN is collecting guns from the Albanian minority, hoping the Macedonians will give them civil rights. Samir leads Albanian rebels; Winchester leads UN forces and oversees the surrender of his weapons.

Zlatko wakes napping secretary Viktoria, who stabs his hand with her pen. They had slept together; now she pulls a gun to back him off. He's lousy in bed and gave her herpes; she's been stealing interferon, and he's going to squeal.

Cable studies schematics of a highly-fortified skyscraper.

Scientist Gani and soldier Fadili eat stew in a bar and discuss their struggles against the Serbs.

Cable breaks into the skyscraper using grav-lifts and acid gloves. Viktoria catches him; he tackles her and jumps out the window with her as his bomb explodes.

Goldberg (iss. 98) hired Hoyle to deal with Cable.

Yacoupi, an Albanian, took over a Soviet-built lab to work on cloning and combat the Serbs.
