Summary

Japanese police find a blood smear at the bottom of the cliff but no body, but that's not unusual on this treacherous mountain. Inside the complex they find Logan squatting, saying John didn't die; he's not a normal person. The X-Men have sent representatives to help the police investigate, but he refuses to answer questions. Sarin confronts him, saying they learn about him at the Academy, and although nobody can prove what he did to Xavier, many would like to "pull your wings off." He informs Logan of his rights regarding mind probes and has Kristin interrogate him, but he doesn't know where his brother went. The X-Men take him in custody to JFK airport, where he asks for a bathroom break. In the lavatory he meets up with Peterson, who delivers a suitcase full of the stuff he asked for. He dons a disguise and walks off; the X-Men eventually realize something's wrong, burst in, and find only Peterson.

Logan boards a jet to Vegas; Xavier reappears and chides him for not trusting the X-Men, but he says Xavier's the one who taught him to lie to telepaths. Logan dares him to inform the X-Men himself, but Xavier says he can't ever come back from the dead: that would be the end of everything. Logan says he's still a "drama queen."

Logan goes to a bar to ask around; the Ratpack thugs try to dissuade him, but he pops claws (one of which is broken at the tip). Logan easily defeats the thugs and demands to know where John is: the Medieval, next to the old Bellagio. He stumbles into the alley as the police hover-car arrives; he's getting to old for this.

In the casino, John gets word of this and says he can handle it. Fowler refuses to let him, since Logan will die when they detonate "the device." John insists; Logan won't die till he meets someone better. Logan, meanwhile, has donned an X-Men uniform and approaches the casino.
