Summary
Miguel and Xina go to Mexico for the Day of the Dead festival, Miguel trying to keep the relationship platonic for the moment. They find that they have a room right next to Gabriel and Kasey. Strange finds that she will meet and work with Spider-Man on this next "mission" of hers. Meanwhile, a man named Morgez is determined to make this Day of the Dead live up to its billing by reanimating his sister 'Nita, remembering a promise he made to her as a child. Xina is relieved to find Kasey is no competition for Miguel, and Miguel learns of Gabriel's identity quandary with Kasey. Morgez's spell has no immediate effect on 'Nita, but it does for the rest of the graveyard, as all the corpses rise. Miguel is blinded by the light show Morgez conjured. Escaping from the doctor's office, Spider-Man is met by Strange, who is well aware of her predecessor, and even carries her own Eye of Agamotto. She has come to stop Morgez.

Hitchhiking away from Alchemax's School for Gifted Youngsters, Miguel is picked up by a taxi driven by Dash. While Miguel explains his situation, Dash inadvertently runs over a raccoon trying to look after the safety of her family, which Dash uses as a metaphor for what heroism is. Inspired, Miguel returns to school to testify.
