Summary
X-Factor return from the funeral of Madelyn Pryor. Bobby takes Leech, Arthur, and Taki back to school. Jean, Scott, Hank, and Warren take the ten babies abducted during Inferno to Washington, to hand them over to the FBI. Nanny and the Orphan-Maker observe and then attack.
Warren fells Nanny, and the Orphan-Maker relates her tale: she was a mutant and a cyborg scientist working for the Right. When she discovered the Right was destroying mutants, she tried to stop them, was imprisoned in one of her own cyborgs, and went mad. She saved Orphan-Maker from Sinister and has since been abducting mutant children to keep them safe and under control.
Jean finds these "Lost Boys and Girls", including Galen and Joey (abducted in iss. 35), hanging unconscious in Nanny's ship, and frees them, but their minds are still controlled by Nanny's pixie dust.
Nanny and the Orphan-Maker escape by teleportation. Freedom Force takes charge of the infants and children and informs X-Factor that Rusty Collins will be remanded to them until trial.
