Summary

  Forge dreams of his experiences in Vietnam and realizes the Adversary had been there, too. He finally agrees to reclaim his heritage as a mystic, and Naze takes him to the Southwest to prepare him while Roma distracts the Adversary.

  Val goes to her boss, saying Sabretooth should not be made a part of the team. He responds by ordering Sabretooth to kill her, which he cannot do because of the restraining collar. Val is ordered to accept him into X-Factor.

  The Adversary fells Roma and attacks Forge, who realizes that he must unite magic with technology, to create order and oppose the Adversary's chaos. He uses the spirit spell and his mutant-power-negating gun (Uncanny 185) to return X-Factor's souls to them, and the Adversary is defeated.
