Summary
When a super-guy hits a "norm" at mach 3, the norm explodes like a watermelon; the cops can't find enough to fill a plastic bag. Northstar's killed 25 rednecks across 16 states, having fun while SHIELD is down, killing people who gave Northstar trouble because he's gay. Logan feels responsible: it's his fault Northstar was killed and resurrected by the Hand, so he'll give him a second chance.
He finds him in a bar with the Dawn of the White Light; they've killed everyone except the bartender, who gives Logan a drink. Logan tells Northstar he's been brainwashed, but he says Xavier's teachings were the brainwashing, which is why he had to pop pills just to get up in the morning, and he's happier with the Dawn. He says they're all animals by nature, and it's only church and state that suppress them; Logan says if he didn't have a conscience, he'd have gutted him by now. Northstar doesn't want charity; he has Sparks put something angry on the jukebox; Logan mocks that lame mutant power and asks if the other guy breakdances. Northstar says, no, he's a teleporter, and Logan finds himself surrounded by members of the Dawn. Hydra gave Northstar his flash back, and he blinds Logan and tells his gang to kick his head in.
Emergency SHIELD outpost: Weinberg is being questioned about freeing Logan without orders; he says SHIELD's splintered, the superheroes are panicked, and nobody knows where Hydra's building their super-weapons. A psychopath is what they need right now, and anyway, they'll really be mad when they hear what Logan got him to sign.
Logan wakes, a captive, in the Dawn's remote base in an abandoned oil refinery in Alaska. Northstar sneers at him; Logan says if he tells him where the Gorgon is, he'll get off with just a flesh wound. Northstar says he's with AIM building death machines they don't even have names for, and they're going to kill the superheroes first, and then the kings and presidents. A thug hits Logan, and Northstar mocks him for having no more comebacks. Another thug detects an electrical device in Logan's neck, SHIELD issue, to cloak his mutant gene. Northstar wonders why he'd want to do that; Logan says he doesn't want to get stomped.
The feet of three Sentinels crash through the refinery roof. Logan notes they crash landed in Russia after a fight with the Avengers, and SHIELD got them from the Russian mob before they could be sold to Iraq and have been in storage since then, till Logan got Weinberg to sign the release forms.
Northstar rallies his team; Logan notes he's a teacher and leader to the end. They're able to fuse a Sentinel's CPU so Northstar can fly right through it; meanwhile, Logan frees himself and lets his instincts take over, slashing through the Dawn members like sides of beef. Northstar gets blasted by a Sentinel and falls to earth; Logan asks him again where Hydra is based; Northstar tells him to go to hell; Logan says they're both going, it's just a matter of when. Logan offers to leave him alone if he tells him where to find Hydra, but tells him to kiss his… Logan punches him out and radios SHIELD that Northstar is wounded and in need of care. SHIELD says this is their mission and orders him to stay there till they pick him up, but he's already gone.
He orders one Sentinel give him a lift and the other to flatten the Dawn "until they're nuthin' but blood and paste."
