Summary
Onslaught is defeated; the heroes are gone; Cable is dying of his T-O virus in the shell of Four Freedoms Plaza, and Nathaniel Richards is unable to save him.
In his distress, Cable knocks Caliban off the building, and Sam has to catch him, then talks to Cable to calm him. Cable sees him as Tyler, then sees a vision of Tyler by his grave in Kentucky, happy and peaceful in death. He doesn't blame Cable and encourages him to keep living.
The virus reaches Cable's brain, and his TK goes wild, then stops abruptly. The elder Richards gives up on him; Storm and the younger Richards certainly do not.
Cable sees Aliya, who encourages him to live, and to let others share his burdens. She goes into the light with Tyler, and Cable returns to his body, whole and refreshed, aided by Franklin.
