Summary

Reports that Magneto was at a local junkyard in New York had surfaced, and Logan, still seething over Magneto getting Genosha (among other things), and Nightcrawler heads over there to investigate. What they encounter, though, is a number of robotic henchmen, with one robot resembling Magneto, who attacks Logan and Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler notices during the fight how Logan had primed himself up for a face-to-face confrontation with Magneto, and even though they weren't fighting the real Magneto, Logan was in a berserker rage. As a result, Nightcrawler had no choice but to join in the fight. Ultimately, Logan and Nightcrawler defeats the robots, though why these robots attacked them, they couldn't explain. The two leaves the scene, unknowing to them that a mysterious figure was watching them from the rubble that they had caused during the fight.

With a change of clothing, the two head down to a local burger stand to grab a bite to eat. The two discussed how Professor X seemed to be taking more control of how to run the X-Men: like it had been when Logan first joined the team. Logan leaves to make a phone call, only to run into a huge guy who thought he could bully Logan around. Logan easily takes them out, and was about to use his claws on one of the bully's "tag-along" when from above, Solo attacks Logan. (Recall from Wolverine #134 that Solo was one of the people Logan was fighting when he was under Aria's control). The fight escalates inside the restaurant until Nightcrawler teleports Solo up onto the roof. Logan joins the fight on the roof, but from behind, Logan is hit by an energy blast from Cardiac, who was also involved in the huge fight in Wolverine #134).

The fight between Cardiac, Solo, and Wolverine escalates until Nightcrawler, acting as the voice of reason, explains to Solo and Cardiac what had happened: that when Wolverine had attacked them in Wolverine #134), his mind was under someone else's control. Solo doesn't buy his story at first, but after some thought, decides to give Logan the benefit of the doubt, and after leaving a threat to Logan, he leaves the scene. Cardiac thanks Nightcrawler for keeping his cool, and also leaves the scene. Nightcrawler and Logan leaves the scene as well as the police arrives. As they leave, Nightcrawler tells Logan that he could have stopped the fight at any time with a simple explanation to them, and how picking a fight with them shouldn't be done for his own personal amusement. And, he noted that the one thing that was made clear by their encounters was that Logan still hadn't reconciled what happened between Magneto and the X-Men.

Back the X-Mansion, the two return to see Marrow storming off after accusing Professor X of treating her like a child. Logan asks Professor X that maybe he should lighten up on all of the X-Men since he knew everyone was very uncomfortable with the fact that Magneto had got Genosha. Professor X's response was that although he is a good friend and a skilled warrior, he wasn't the teacher, and therefore, he should continue playing his role while Logan plays his own role.
