Summary
This book begins off with a brief scene of a Wolverine walking towards Mariko who has her sword poised in a slicing pose.
Back into reality, we see how Logan was being tortured by Geist and Felix Caridad, trying to get him to tell the truth about who he was. Logan kept insisting he was Wolverine, but they wouldn't believe him. Finally, Caridad gives up, thinking that Logan was indeed Wolverine, since he was able to handle the torture.
Meanwhile, Sister Salvation is reunited with her son, Palo, who was now a soldier in his father's (Felix) army.
Back inside, Logan is cuffed to the wall. Roughouse was also in there, wrapped in chains, dangling from the ceiling. Roughouse tells Logan about how his dad had once beat him consistently, which made him angry, and so he got bigger, stronger, angrier, and was planning to be the one who gives the scar. But he said that Sister Salvation's touch had somehow cured him of the anger, which meant he couldn't break the chains to get free. Logan, though, tells him about Spore, and what a danger he will represent to the world, since there wouldn't be a Celestial to stop him like last time.
Back to the other part of camp...we see that Felix intended to use his own son to be the next guinea pig in the cocaine experiment. The sound of Salvation's scream alerts Logan and Roughouse. Hearing her scream, Roughouse breaks his chains and frees Logan so that they could go help her. Right before they shoot Palo with the cocaine-dipped dart, Logan and Roughouse bursts in. Logan deflects the darts, and unknowing to Felix, it strikes him in the chest. Salvation refuses to help him. Geist realizes the situation was getting out of hand, and that it was every man for himself. So he escapes out of the building, only to discover La Bandera had mobilized the natives there and was wrecking havoc to the camp.
Back inside, Logan tells Felix Caridad to seek help. Caridad refuses to give up, and instead, shoots himself full of the cocaine, still wanting his dream of giving his country a superhero. Thinking he died, the four begins to leave. To their surprise, Logan encounters Spore, who had now consumed Felix's body. La Bandera and her followers show up, but her followers runs away in fear, leaving La Bandera powerless. Logan brings in a flame thrower, but it has no noticable effect on her. Spore engulfs Wolverine, and he disappears!
