Summary
Blaquesmith tries to kill Nate, using a failsafe evidently prepared against Cable, and Nate blasts him. Nate's power ripples across the psionic plane, alerting Holocaust that Nate Grey still exists, painfully attacking Psylocke, Phoenix, and Xavier.
Cable wants Nate as an ally, but he refuses to listen, so Cable slugs him. Cable finds his power is augmented; he is able to "step between the moments," sneaking up on Nate, and continuing the physical and phsychic assault until Nate overextends himself and collapses. Cable enters his mind to revive him, and finally gets Nate to trust him, while the T-O virus ravages his body. Blaquesmith takes him away to heal him, leaving Nate with Threnody. Cable gets a telepathic call from Domino and races to help X-Force in New York (X-Force 54).
Onslaught observes, and sends Post to Cable. Note: Blaquesmith's summary of Cable's history part 2 follows.
