Phalanx Covenant
Summary
Note: this is part of the Phalanx Covenant crossover.
Scott, Jean, Wolverine, and Cable fly a DC-3 right into the Phalanx citadel in the Himalayas. Lang has Psylocke captive, but is secretly rebelling against the Phalanx, since he realizes they will destroy all life, not just mutants.
Jean has psi-blasted the team to a nearby ledge, and they climb toward the Phalanx. Wolverine bickers with Cable, but then makes nice when he realizes how much Jean cares about him.
Psylocke lets Lang take control of her; he plans to use her against Hodge, and then she can free the X-Men.
When Jean uses her psi power to boost Cable up, Hodge senses it and suspects Lang. The mutants attack, Wolverine frees Bishop, who frees the other X-Men, who attack. Hodge orders Psylocke to attack the X-Men, but that was Lang's trigger to free her from the Phalanx's control. She gets Jean and Cable to power her up, and destroys the Phalanx's psi-net. Lang releases his control of the citadel, it collapses, and Hodge drags the traitor down with him.
On the far side of the galaxy, the Phalanx plans a more aggressive attack on earth.
