Summary
Logan, holding his guts in with one hand, staggers down the mountain in a blizzard. The voice in his head says he should have gone home, that Weapon X probably never existed, and he's not going to find them. Logan falls; the voice tells him nothing good ever came from obsession; Logan remembers his parents and sees a vision of Rose (Wolverine: The Origin LS). Armed men find him and carry him off to their base.
They take him to a lab; he remembers the Weapon X lab, the Professor directing his adamantium infusion, testing him with electricity but saying he won't remember because he's just an animal. He wakes with a start and finds himself in a hospital bed. He follows an old Japanese man through a high-tech center (monitoring American stock prices), and into the master's sanctuary. He greets "James"; Logan says he hasn't been James since the adamantium; they face off, and the master tosses him a sword, but he tosses it aside. Logan realizes he's Kitsunebi, and he killed to create a legend and scare people off. Kitsunebi says he had his reasons and says he's Logan's predecessor; they spar. Kitsunebi says he's homo superior, and a bit more practiced than Logan; when Logan guts him, he turns to ghost form and attacks. He has claws in his hands, too, and he slashes Logan repeatedly. He knows Logan wants to learn about his past; he's been following him for 185 years and knows everything. He tosses Logan around, who asks why Kitsunebi doesn't just tell him; he says Logan has to learn the pecking order first; he embraces him, saying Logan's his little brother.
