Summary
T.J. cried and screamed seeing John in a coma, but then the Tallus took the Exiles away (iss. 10). Now she stands silently looking out a hotel window; she touches a bouquet of roses, and even Kevin's silliness can't break her somber mood. She wants to be alone; Kevin knows it's not the same, but he says he misses him too.
Flashback: before battling Phoenix (iss. 4), T.J. finds John smelling flowers on the moon. He says he's like Ferdinand the bull, who preferred blossoms to bloodshed. His mother told him that story; she was outnumbered by the men of the family.
At their next mission in Canada (iss. 5), T.J. says how she found it funny that Wolverine didn't want her attending public high school, worrying for her safety. John admits he doesn't hate Kevin but just envies his freedom.
She cheers him for defeating the Hulk (iss. 6), but he demurs. He liked meeting himself as Shaman, sort of like having James around. James was T.J.'s boyfriend on her world; they both miss him, and T.J. kisses John.
In the Savage Land (iss. 8), he rejects her advances, saying their lives are too uncertain. Helping Stark (iss. 8), he apologizes and admits he thinks he's a monster she could never want; she insists she wants him and nobody else, and they evidently make babies on Lincoln's bed. On the Skrull world (iss. 10), she tells him she's pregnant, and despite the bad timing, he's overjoyed. He wants a boy.
Now, she holds roses and apologizes to him for not being able to fight, for losing the baby (iss. 12).
