Summary
Belasco reminds Cable that he is the son of the Goblin Queen, and while he ousts D'Spayre, Cable and Forrester get away. They find themselves at the Nexus of All Realities, which Belasco says has been growing, spoiling his delicate balance.
He recounts Limbo's history: he ruled it, stole Illyana, who overthrew him and gave it to S'ym, who used N'Astirh to steal powerful babies (including Cable) to sacrifice, to make a portal to earth. S'ym beat Illyana, N'Astirh beat S'ym, Illyana tossed the Soulsword back into Limbo to close the portal, and reverted to a young girl. Madelyn and N'Astirh tried to reopen the portal, but she killed herself fighting the X-Men (see the Inferno Crossover, 1988-89).
In Camp Verde, Sam and Theresa try to track Cable, but he is not in this continuum.
Belasco uses Forrester as a hostage to get Cable's help. S'ym appears, quickly disposes of Belasco, and plans to sacrifice Cable to reopen access to earth. Cable, with Forrester providing distraction, beats S'ym, putting a stake through his heart via TK. Belasco congratulates him, closes the portal, and returns them to the Everglades. Cable bodyslides them out.
