Summary

  Irene is abandoned in Zurich, writing notes about Cable.

  Shaw, Pierce, and Ch'vayre break into Apocalypse's tomb, don't see him, and plan to exploit his technology. Cable enters, and Pierce finally confronts the man who caused him to become a cyborg. They fight, and Cable destroys Pierce's hand, again. Ch'vayre insults the Hellfire Club, so Shaw attacks him and puts him into one of Apocalypse's cocoons. Shaw leaves, abandoning the failed Pierce, while the roof caves in. Cable tries to rescue Ch'vayre, but only manages to make telepathic contact before the structure blasts into space and explodes. Cable is presumed to have survived the wreckage.

  In Egypt, Apocalypse prepares to begin the next stage alone. He frees his servants Ozymandias and Caliban.
