Summary
Philippe knocks Cable out of the line of fire, and his mother Inza immediately disowns him. Cable grabs him and erects a TK shield to escape Kaval's forces. The news summarizes recent atrocities. Cable goes to Brazil and uses a telepathic shield to sneak into a hospital and run some tests on himself. The police interrogate Juana, then go to put down a riot. Cable returns Philippe to the camp, where the survivors are burning the dead.
In a safe house, Sanz rallies his girls, then checks his investments, now worth $14 billion. He buys the banks that hold Peruvian loans: he can't conquer the country, so he'll purchase it.
Cable realizes his T-O virus has mutated because of the Legacy Virus cure, and he will be able to remove it.
The Shining Path attacks a wood processing plant that pollutes and oppresses. Juana is found naked and dead in her cell, and Kaval is angry. Inza takes Sanz home, where Cable is already waiting. He gives her back her drugs, says he knows they've used capitalism to advance Communism, and kisses her.
