Summary

  Val forces Graydon to accept X-Factor as security against Mystique. She, meanwhile, has hacked through Forge's restraints and morphed into Val's form, then blended into the crowd that has gathered to hear Graydon's speech. X-Factor grabs her and doesn't let her explain but just takes her away in bonds.

  Mystique claims the government has set them all up, that Graydon is going to die and she was trying to stop it. Forge and Polaris capture Pyro, and just then Graydon is blasted into ashes. The anti-mutant hysteria is immediate, but X-Factor gets a message from the real killer, who is targeting Mystique next.
